OCPP Integration Alfen Charging Stations
This guide describes the necessary steps to connect Alfen Eve charging stations to the Sintio portal. Please note that a working network connection is required for stable OCPP communication.
Prerequisites
You should download the Alfen Installer Tool (ACE Service Installer) beforehand. You also require authorisation from Alfen Support. More information on how to get access you will find here (opens in a new tab).
Alfen Eve
Firmware Update
Before setting up the OCPP connection, you must check whether the required firmware is installed on the charging station. You can download it here (opens in a new tab) if needed.
In the ACE Installer of the charging station, a new firmware file can be uploaded using the Upload Firmware... button. Select the appropriate file and start the upload.
After a successful upload, the firmware is automatically installed. Restart the station.
OCPP Settings
The OCPP connection is configured through the network settings of the charging station.
Under General, set the Backoffice preset to Manually enter Backend settings. Also select the required Connect method and set the OCPP protocol under Protocol to OCPP 1.6.
In the Wired tab, enter the URL of the OCPP server. Fill in the details from the Sintio portal as shown below.
Input Field | Value |
---|---|
Back office URL | wss://ocpp.sintio.app/ |
Back office path | ocpp16/organisationsname/ |
Under Back office security, the OCPP password for authorization at the OCPP-Server must be entered.
Input Field | Value |
---|---|
Security Profile | 2: TLS with Basic Authentication |
Back office authorization Key | Password from Sintio portal |
Authorisation
To let the charging station know how to handle authorizations from Users, the relevant settings need to be configured.
Here you configure whether RFID cards should be authorized locally or via the backend. Check Local list enabled and uncheck White list enabled.
After completing the configuration, save all changes and restart the charging station so it can establish a connection to the OCPP server.
After restarting, the station automatically starts connecting to the OCPP server and will appear in the Sintio portal under Chargers.
